Softball Faces No. 18 Clemson in Palmetto State

CHAPEL HILL – Playing in its first ACC road games April 2019, North Carolina travels to No. 18 Clemson for a four-game series vs. the Tigers Thursday through Saturday in Clemson, South Carolina.
Thursday's game begins at 5 p.m. Friday's doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m. The series wraps up Saturday at noon. Each game will be broadcast on ACCNX. Fans can follow live stats at UNClivestats.com.
Returning from a two-week pause due to COVID protocols, the Tar Heels enter the weekend 10-8 overall, 6-3 in the ACC while Clemson sits at 22-4, 14-4 in league play.

Most recently due to a two-week pause, UNC continued ACC play with its first four-game series of the season against Notre Dame at home. The Tar Heels began the weekend strong with a 6-0 win Friday, but were shut out Saturday: 13-0 and 4-0. Carolina bounced back Sunday for the 2-1 win thanks to a pair of home runs by Kristina Burkhardt and Kiersten Licea.
» Intentionally walked twice, Burkhardt led UNC at the plate with a .545 average that consisted of a double, two triples and home run for a 1.273 slugging percentage. The red-shirt senior extended her reached-base streak to 10 games.
» Licea slugged the game-winning home run Sunday to wrap up her weekend 3-for-5 with a .778 on-base percentage.
» Going 2-1, Brittany Pickett anchored the Tar Heels pitching staff with 14 strikeouts in 21.0 innings of work.
