After Louisville knotted the score 1-1 with 27:36 remaining in the first half on a Blalock goal, the Tar Heels held UofL scoreless for nearly 12 minutes while rattling off six unanswered goals to take a 7-1 advantage before a Hall goal at the 15:54 mark stopped the run.
UNC dominated the draw in the first half, winning the first nine draw controls of the game to dominate the possession.
After Louisville cut the Carolina lead to 9-5 with 4:15 left in the first half, the Tar Heels scored the final two goals of the first half to take an 11-5 edge into the halftime break and then notched the first eight goals in the second half to break things open. The Cardinals scored with 21 seconds remaining to break a 33:07 scoring drought.
