Love Strikes Out Six In 4-0 Loss To No. 8 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- North Carolina (20-19, 14-14) fell to No. 8 Notre Dame (22-8, 19-8) 4-0 in game one of a three-game set on Friday.
Austin Love impressed on the mound and turned in his seventh appearance in which he has pitched at least six innings and recorded at least strikeouts.
Love tossed six innings, which yielded four hits, two runs, both earned, three walks, and six strikeouts.
Chris Joyner, Davis Palermo, and Connor Ollio each saw action out of the bullpen.
Carolina had opportunities throughout the contest after collecting six hits and drawing four walks. The Tar Heels finished the game 1-for-14 with runners on base and left 10 runners stranded.
Angel Zarate, Tomas Frick, Mac Horvath, Colby Wilkerson, Johnny Castagnozzi, and Brett Centracchio each recorded a hit.
The Tar Heels also committed a season-high five errors.
Game two is scheduled for 2 p.m.
