Thirteen Tar Heels Earn USTFCCA Academic Honor

Thirteen Tar Heels have earned spots on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Teams, as announced on Thursday by the USTFCCA.

Earning the honor are Mady Clahane, Kelsey Harrington, Paige Hofstad, Anna Keefer, Sasha Neglia, Taryn Parks, Emerson Porter, Jill Shippee and Sarah Trainor from the women's team, and Patrick Anderson, Will Coogan, Dolan Owens and Troy Yearwood from the men's team.

To qualify academically, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25. To qualify athletically, they must have finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 in a championship individual event or top 48 in a championship relay event; or participated in the NCAA Outdoor Preliminaries or Championships; or finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or West regions.

The UNC women also were honored as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. That award requires a team cumulative of 3.0 or better.
