Carolina Gymnastics Hosts Saturday Quad Meet

CHAPEL HILL – For the second time this season, the Carolina gymnastics team will compete in front of the home crowd at Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels host No. 8 Missouri, George Washington and Brown at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early as team introductions get underway at 3:45 p.m. Admisison is free.

Carolina is coming off a third-place finish on the road at the Rutgers quad meet on Jan. 15 with a 194.225 team score. Three Carolina gymnasts claimed individual event titles in the meet, with Julia Knower earning her first all-around title with a four-event score of 39.200.Â

Freshman Lali Dekanoidze, who came in second in the all-around, took home the vault title with a 9.90, while junior Elizabeth Culton won on bars with a 9.90.

Knower currently ranks No. 9 on beam in the NCAA with a 9.90 average on the apparatus.Â
