Gymnastics Hosts Temple For Saturday Dual Meet

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina gymnastics team returns home on Saturday for its first dual meet of the season. The Tar Heels will face the Temple Owls in a EAGL conference matchup at 5:15 p.m. in Carmichael Arena. Admission is free.

The Tar Heels are coming off a second-place finish at the Alabama tri-meet in Tuscaloosa on Feb. 4. Carolina earned a victory over No. 17 Western Michigan in the meet, but came in second behind the No. 9 Crimson Tide with a team score of 195.325. Alabama posted a 197.875, while the Bronocs earned a 194.875.
Carolina's team score was the highest in program history against Alabama, who they have faced five times, all on the road, since 2000.

As a team, the Tar Heels currently lead the EAGL in three categories:
The Tar Heels will be celebrating Black History Month and 50 Years of Women's Athletics at Carolina on Saturday, including former and current Carolina gymnasts.
