Keefer Earns ACC Field Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina's Anna Keefer has been selected as Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Co-Field Performer of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. Keefer, who shares the honor with Virginia Tech's Victoria Gorlova, turned in standout performances in the women's long jump and 200m at the Tiger Paw Invite last Friday and Saturday in Clemson, S.C.
Keefer achieved performances that rank as the best of her career and the best in the ACC this season in both events. In the long jump on Friday, she placed fifth overall and first among collegiate competitors with a jump of 6.46 meters (21'2.5"). That distance currently stands eighth in the NCAA and was just a centimeter behind the school record.
In the 200m on Saturday, Keefer set a school record with her time of 23.24 (tied for 13th nationally), breaking the mark of 23.50 set by future Olympic gold medalist LaTasha Colander in 1998.
