No. 4 MLAX Battles Ohio State On Saturday

CHAPEL HILL - The fourth-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse team (2-0) will host Ohio State (2-0) on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Dorrance Field. The game will face off at 3 p.m. and will air live on ACC Network.

Looking Back
North Carolina is fresh off a 15-9 victory over Colgate on Feb. 13, led by a four-point performance from Chris Gray (3G, 1A) and stifling defensive effort. Jacob Kelly and Lance Tillman finished with two goals and one assist, while UNC used constant defensive pressure and a relentless ride to cause eight turnovers. Nicky Solomon had a solid game, scoring one goal and picking up two assists. Sophomore keeper Collin Krieg held off the Colgate attack and made eight saves for the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels and Buckeyes have met 17 times in the programs' histories, with the Tar Heels holding a commanding 15-2 advantage. The teams last faced each other in 2011, with the Buckeyes taking the 13-8 victory. The first meeting between the schools took place in 1965, with the Tar Heels winning 8-5.

Joe Breschi is in his 24th season as a head coach and 14th with the Tar Heels, with a 231-128 career record for a .643 winning percentage. Breschi is 139-65 (.681) as North Carolina's head coach. Breschi is 2-1 all-time against Ohio State.

After defeating Colgate 15-9 this past Sunday, North Carolina has won four consecutive games when scoring 15 or more goals dating back to last season. The Tar Heels have been strong offensively under head coach Joe Breschi when scoring 15+ goals, posting a 70-1 record under Breschi since 2009. The only blemish was against Virginia in an 18-16 loss last year.

Home Field Advantage
North Carolina is scheduled to play 10 out of 14 games at home, including seven straight to start the season. UNC will face five ranked teams at home, highlighted by No. 1 Virginia on Mar. 10 and No. 3 Duke on Apr. 2. The Tar Heels have played 10 home games three out of the last four seasons.
