Gymnastics Travels To NC State For Saturday Meet

CHAPEL HILL – The Carolina gymnastics team hits the road for a rivalry meet this weekend, traveling to NC State for a Saturday dual meet. The meet will get underway at 4 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum.

Carolina is coming off an 195.600-195.425 dual meet conference victory over the Temple Owls on Saturday night in Carmichael Arena. In the win, freshman Lali Dekanoidze earned her third career all-around title, setting a new career-best of 39.550.
The Tar Heels also took home or shared all four individual event titles. Cory Shinohara, Julia Knower and Dekanoidze each shared the vault title, Dekanoidze took bars with a career-best 9.95, Knower won beam and Elizabeth Culton took a share of floor.
Dekanoidze and Knower also each earned weekly honors for their performances, with Dekanoidze earning her fourth EAGL Gymnast of the Week, while Knower was named Rookie of the Week for the second time.
