Gymnastics Matches Second-Highest Team Score Of Season At Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – The Carolina gymnastics team finished the 2022 regular season off with a bang on Saturday, posting a 196.475 on the road at No. 24 Georgia, the highest road score against a Southeastern Conference opponent in program history. The Bulldogs earned the meet win with a 197.175.
On floor, the Tar Heels posted a season-best 49.350, with five Carolina gymnasts matching their career-bests in the rotation. Freshman Julia Knower earned her third straight all-around title with a career-best 39.400, finishing the meet with back-to-back 9.90s on beam and floor.
On bars, Carolina had its fourth straight meet with a 49.025 or better, posting a 49.150.
Carolina Performance Notes:
The Tar Heels will start postseason play on Saturday, March 19 at the 2022 EAGL Championship in Washington, D.C.

- Shailyn St. Brice (9.850), Bri Greenlow (9.875), Elizabeth Culton (9.90), Julia Knower (9.90) and Jay Weil (9.825) all matched their career-bests on floor
- Elizabeth Culton posted a season-best 9.90 on floor, matching her career-best. It was her second 9.90 on the event in her career the first since March 13, 2021
- Culton also earned her third straight score of 9.90 or better on beam
- Julia Knower scored a 9.90 on beam, her fourth score of 9.90 or better on the event this season
- Hannah Nam matched her career-best on beam with a 9.875
- Shailyn St. Brice matched her career-best of 9.85 on floor, her fourth score of 9.80 or better this season
- Culton had a podium finish on all three events she competed in: beam, bars and floor, while Knower had podium finishes on beam and floor
