Softball Hosts App State for In-State Midweek Matchup

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina softball team will welcome App State to Anderson Softball Stadium on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. midweek matchup. Admission is free.
For those unable to those unable to attend in person, the game will also stream live on ACCN+.
Carolina is coming off a three-game home ACC series victory against NC State over the weekend.
Animals at Anderson
Wednesday's game is also Animals at Anderson night! Fans are allowed to bring their dogs into the stadium with them.
Rules:
Carolina hosts Clemson this weekend for a three-game series, starting Friday at 6 p.m.

Animals at Anderson
Wednesday's game is also Animals at Anderson night! Fans are allowed to bring their dogs into the stadium with them.
Rules:
- All dogs must have current vaccinations
- Dog owners assume responsibility for the actions of their dogs while at this event. All dogs must be always kept on a fixed leash (no longer than 6 ft.)
- No retractable leashes
- The Tar Heels are 29-3 all-time against the Mountaineers and 10-0 in Anderson Stadium
- The last time the two teams met was Feb. 13, 2015, when App State broke Carolina's 10-game winning streak over them with a 4-3 win in Columbia, S.C.
- Kianna Jones earned the Tar Heels' first weekly honor of the season on Tuesday, being named the ACC Player of the Week
- Four Tar Heels rank in the top-20 in ACC batting averages: Kiannah Pierce, Bri Stubbs, Sara Jubas and Skyler Brooks
- Eight games in, Taylor Greene is batting .526 in conference play
- Carolina hit five doubles in back-to-back games against NC State
