No. 7 MLAX To Host No. 2 Virginia In ACC Opener

CHAPEL HILL - The No. 7 North Carolina men's lacrosse team (5-1) is back in action this Thursday, Mar. 10, against No. 2 Virginia (5-0, 1-0 ACC) at Dorrance Field. The game will face-off at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on ACC Network.

Behind six goals from Chris Gray, the Tar Heels beat No. 20 Denver 17-16 Saturday afternoon in a back-and-forth battle at Dorrance Field. With 1:19 remaining, Gray took a pass from Schertzinger and fired a ball past Denver keeper Jack Thompson for what would prove to be the game-winner. It was the sixth of the day for Gray, who has now scored six or more goals in a game five times as a Tar Heel.
Collin Krieg finished the day with 14 saves for the Tar Heels. Senior Zac Tucci had a great game, winning 12 of 25 face-offs. The Tar Heels took 55 shots to Denver's 40 and led 34-18 in ground balls, including 10-5 in the fourth quarter.
