Wiltrout Named ACC Performer Of The Week

For the second time in the 2022 outdoor track and field season, North Carolina's Madison Wiltrout has been selected for Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Field Performer of the Week honors. Wiltrout reset her own school record in the javelin to earn the ACC recognition, announced by the league on Tuesday.

Wiltrout threw a lifetime-best 187-4 (57.11 meters) to claim gold on Friday at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, Fla. Her throw is the best in the NCAA this spring and her first PR since her sophomore year at Connellsville Area High School.

A graduate student from Connellsville, Pa., Wiltrout also earned the ACC honor on March 23 following the opening weekend of the season, when she reset her own record with her first throw of the spring.
