CHAPEL HILL - The 15th ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse team (7-3) continues ACC play Saturday when the Tar Heels head to Charlottesville, Va., to face No. 7 Virginia (7-2) for the second time this season.

Looking Back
A 5-0 run to start the second half by the Blue Devils put UNC in a hole as the Tar Heels dropped a 15-6 loss to No. 15 Duke this past Saturday. Chris Gray led the team with one goal and three assists. It is the fifth time he has collected three or more assists this season.

Lance Tillman scored two goals for his fifth multi-goal game of the season. Jacob Kelly and Henry Schertzinger scored one goal, while Dominic Pryor earned his first goal in a Tar Heel uniform. Zac Tucci and Andrew Tyeryar went a combined 12-25 at the face-off. Tyeryar collected a team-high four ground balls. In the cage, Collin Krieg made a season-high 19 saves.

Series History vs. Virginia
North Carolina and Virginia have had a long-standing series, the 83rd meeting between the two schools. The Cavaliers hold a 53-29 record over the Tar Heels. The first meeting was in 1949, with Virginia downing the Tar Heels 12-1 in Chapel Hill. The two teams faced each other three times in 2021. The Tar Heels earned the 16-13 victory in Charlottesville before falling to the Cavaliers 18-16 in Chapel Hill. The third and final meeting of the season was in the NCAA Final Four, with UNC dropping a heartbreaking 12-11 loss. The teams last met on Mar. 10, with the Tar Heels falling 15-11 in Chapel Hill.
