UNC (12-5, 3-3 ACC) is looking for its third win in a row against the Blue Devils after sweeping last season's two matchups. Prior to that, Duke (16-1, 6-0) had won five in a row against Carolina.
The Tar Heels are coming off a 56-47 homecourt win over No. 11 NC State on Sunday. Carolina won in front of a capacity crowd, the first sellout at Carmichael since the 2015 season.
Battle of the Blues
• UNC and Duke are meeting for the 104th time in a series that dates back to the 1975-76 season, Carolina's second year of varsity competition under the umbrella of the Department of Athletics. UNC leads the series 52-51 after winning both of last year's matchups. Before that Duke had won the last five in a row and 12 of the last 13.
• Last time both UNC and Duke were ranked in the top 20 for a meeting was March 1, 2015, when No. 16 Duke beat No. 15 UNC 81-80 in Durham. Earlier that season in the matchup in Chapel Hill, No. 15 Duke beat No. 12 UNC 74-67 in overtime. (That game was UNC's last sellout at Carmichael prior to last Sunday's game vs. NC State.)
Noting the Tar Heels
• The Tar Heels are coming off three consecutive ACC wins after dropping their first three.
• UNC is playing its eighth ranked opponent of the season when it takes on No. 13 Duke. The Tar Heels are 4-3 against ranked teams, including two top-five wins.
• Three Tar Heels rank in the conference's top 12 in scoring: Deja Kelly is fifth with 15.9 ppg, Kennedy Todd-Williams is eighth at 13.9, and Alyssa Ustby is 12th at 13.5. No other school has more than two scores in the top 20.
• In a nod to Carolina's versatility, four different players have scored 20 or more points on 13 occasions in the season's first 17 games. Deja Kelly has reached 20 six times, Kennedy Todd-Williams four, Eva Hodgson two and Destiny Adams one. A fifth Tar Heel, Alyssa Ustby, has reached 19 on two occasions.
• Six Tar Heels have led the team in scoring or tied for the lead in at least one game this season. Most recently, freshman Paulina Paris came off the bench to lead UNC with 16 points vs. Notre Dame.

• UNC's 10 blocks against Iowa State were the most for a Tar Heel team since the 2017-18 season. The Tar Heels had eight at Virginia and are averaging 4.82 per game, fifth in the ACC and 26th nationally.
• Destiny Adams is ninth in the ACC in blocks with 1.3 per game in an average of 17.1 minutes per game on the court.
• Two Tar Heels are in the top eight in the ACC in assist/turnover ratio. Deja Kelly is sixth and Eva Hodgson is eighth, both with two assists for every turnover. UNC's team assist-turnover ratio of 1.11 is third in the ACC.

The Tar Heels are shooting .758 over their six conference games with only one game (Miami at .615) below .700. For the season, UNC is shooting .687, 13th in the league. Carolina's ACC-only average ranks seventh.
