Tar Heels In The Elite Eight
• Saturday is the 14th overall appearance for the program in the NCAA quarterfinal.
• Carolina has posted 10 Elite Eight showings in the past 16 seasons, including six under head coach Carlos Somoano.

• On Sunday, Carolina advanced over Hofstra in penalty kicks in the NCAA Third Round.
• Teddy Baker opened the scoring for Hostra in the 18th minute, scoring on a header from the back post.
