No. 3 Men's Soccer Meets Oregon State In NCAA Quarterfinal

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 3 seeded North Carolina men's soccer team welcomes Oregon State to Chapel Hill Saturday night, in the NCAA Quarterfinals at Dorrance Field.Â

Tar Heels In The Elite Eight
• Saturday is the 14th overall appearance for the program in the NCAA quarterfinal.
• Carolina has posted 10 Elite Eight showings in the past 16 seasons, including six under head coach Carlos Somoano.
• The Tar Heels are 8-3-2 all-time in the Elite Eight.
Last Time Out
• On Sunday, Carolina advanced over Hofstra in penalty kicks in the NCAA Third Round.Â
• Teddy Baker opened the scoring for Hostra in the 18th minute, scoring on a header from the back post.Â
• Ahmad Al-Qaq responded quickly for the Tar Heels, sending home the equalizer in the 21st minute. Andrew Czech was able to beat his man down the wing, floating a cross into the box for Al-Qaq to head it home from close range.Â
