McGovern's Eight Points Lead Men's Lacrosse Over Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Logan McGovern's eight-point effort (4 goals, 4 assists) fueled the North Carolina men's lacrosse (3-1, 1-0 ACC) offense over Syracuse (3-2, 0-1 ACC) 19-13, in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener at the JMA Wireless Dome Saturday afternoon.

- A back-and-forth first quarter saw the Tar Heels lead by one after the opening 15 minutes, 5-4.
- In the second, North Carolina outscored the Orange by five, 7-2, taking a six-goal lead to the break, 12-6.
- The Orange flipped the script in the third, outpacing the Tar Heels in the frame, 4-2, however UNC kept a four-goal lead entering the fourth, 14-10.
- UNC sealed the deal in the fourth, adding to their lead, to secure the 19-13 victory.
- McGovern's eight-point showing led all players in the matchup.
- Lance Tillman and Antonio DeMarco each posted a hat trick in the win.
- Six different Tar Heels collected three-or-more groundballs in the contest.
- Andrew Tyeryar (15-28) and George Kalos (4-7) combined to win the battle at the faceoff X.
- Collin Krieg stopped 12 shots between the pipes.
- McGovern tied his career-high with eight points, the previous coming on April 30, 2022 against Wagner, while McGovern was at Bryant.
