No. 14 Men's Lacrosse Ready For Nonconference Finale

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The first 250 students receive a free t-shirt and it's a Carolina Fever game, as the No. 14-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse team (6-3, 1-1) close out the nonconference portion of the 2023 schedule, welcoming Providence to Dorrance Field.

Scouting Providence
• The Friars enter the matchup having dropped their most recent game in a close one to Hobart, 10-9.
• Jack Horrigan and Michael Chabra lead Providence with 21 goals each, as Ryan Bell sits atop the points column with 36.
• At the faceoff X, a combination of Quinn McConnaughey and Tom Fegley have taken a majority of the faceoffs for the Friars, for a unit that sits just below 35%.

• Brodersen spent the last 12 seasons at Bryant, overseeing the defense while McGovern blossomed on the offensive side.
• Gregory, Horton and McGovern all were teammates for the 2022 season.

Getting Defensive
• Wednesday's victory over High Point was the eighth time this season the Tar Heels have allowed less than 10 goals in a game.
• Under head coach Joe Breschi, the Tar Heels are 90-13 when allowing nine-or-fewer goals.
• UNC defensive coordinator Kevin Unterstein, recently named in the same role of Atlas LC of the Premier Lacrosse League, is overseeing a defensive unit that ranks fourth in the nation in scoring defensive (as of 3/23), allowing just 8.56 goals per game.
