Men's Soccer Secures Road Victory Friday At ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The duo of David Bercedo and Quenzi Huerman each scored their first goals of the 2023 campaign, as the North Carolina men's soccer team (1-0-1) secured a road non-conference victory Friday night at East Tennessee State (1-2-0), 2-1.
How It Happened
• The host Buccaneers got on the board in the 10th minute, as Gabriel Ramos started the night's scoring, off an assist from Sebastian Reventlow.
• Carolina nearly got on the board in the opening half, with two shots on goal apiece from Ernest Bawa and Martin Vician.
• After being awarded a penalty kick in the 54th minute, forward Quenzi Huerman scored his first career goal as a Tar Heel, to knot the contest at 1-all.
• In the 75th minute, David Bercedo deflected an attempted ETSU goal kick, as Bercedo's deflection found the back of the net, lifting Carolina to the 2-1 edge.
