No. 23 WBB Set For Action In Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. – The North Carolina women's basketball team gears up for its third Atlantic Coast Conference road outing in a four-game span on Thursday when the Tar Heels take on Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion. Tipoff is 6 p.m. and the game will air on ACC Network.
 
The No. 23 Tar Heels are 12-5 overall and 4-1 in ACC play following Sunday's homecourt win over Virginia. Georgia Tech is also 12-5 overall and is 3-2 in ACC play coming off a loss at Duke on Sunday.
 
Heels vs. Jackets
UNC and Georgia Tech are meeting for the 83rd time in a series that dates back to the 1979-80 season. The Tar Heels lead 61-21 overall after winning last season in Chapel Hill.
• Georgia Tech won the last matchup in Atlanta, 55-38 on Jan. 23, 2022. It was UNC's lowest scoring game of the season by 20 points and just three points above Carolina's all-time low final score of 35 in a 2012 loss to UConn. The Tar Heels shot 29.1 percent from field and 27.3 (3-11) from the foul line.
• In last year's meeting in Chapel Hill, on Jan. 22, 2023, four Tar Heels hit double figures, led by Deja Kelly with 18 and Alyssa Ustby with 17.

Carolina stays home for its next two games. On Sunday, the Tar Heels host No. 13 Louisville and celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day. On Thursday, Miami visits for an 8 PM tipoff. Those are UNC's first back-to-back home games since hosting Clemson on Dec. 31 and Syracuse on Jan. 4. Carolina won't play back-to-back home games again in the regular season.

Five games into the ACC schedule, Tar Heels have put up impressive numbers:
• With at least nine boards in every conference game so far, Alyssa Ustby leads the league with 11.8 rebounds per game in ACC play.
• Lexi Donarski was 13-29 from three-point range through the first three games of the ACC season, including six in the ACC opener against Clemson. She's cooled off since then to go 2-9 in the last two games but is still shooting .395 from three in conference play, a percentage that ranks third in the league. Her 3.0 makes per game also ranks third.
