ROANOKE, Va. - The North Carolina wrestling program begins its 2024-25 campaign Saturday, traveling to the Southeast Open.

New Faces, New Places
• Entering year two under head coach Rob Koll, the program welcomed 15 new faces to Chapel Hill.
• The Tar Heels welcomed five transfers: Nolan Neves (Columbia), Ethan Oakley (Appalachian State), Joshua Ogunsanya (Columbia), Joey Showalter (Indiana) and Blaze Yawn (Cornell).
• The 2024 recruiting class including ten freshmen: Collin Carrigan, Jake Dailey, Matthew Foil, Elias Navida, Nick O'Neill, Robert Platt, Laird Root, Aidan Schlett, Luke Simcox and Cameron Stinson Jr.

Recapping Last Year
• On Aug. 31, 2023, 1988 national champion Rob Koll returned to Chapel Hill, becoming the seventh head coach in program history.
• In his first season back in Chapel Hill, Carolina had their most dual victories since the 2019-20 campaign.
• Individually, five Carolina wrestlers earned berths to the NCAA Championships in Kansas City, with Lachlan McNeil collecting All-America honors for the second-straight season.
