The three's continued to fall for the Tar Heels, shooting at a blistering 69.2% from deep in the first half with nine total triples. Creating a 20 point lead midway through the second quarter, the Tar Heels asserted complete control heading into the break, leading the Eagles 46-27.
The Carolina defense held off Coppin State, not allowing the Eagles to come within 15 points the entire second half. With 35 points from the Tar Heel bench, UNC ensured its ninth victory of the year, taking down Coppin State, 72-46.
Facing one more non-conference opponent before opening ACC action, Carolina hosts in-state UNCG on Wednesday night. The 7 p.m. ET tip from Carmichael Arena can be streamed on ACCNX.
