CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A hat trick by Brendan Grimes and 13 saves from goalkeeper Chayse Ierlan helped lift No. 9 Johns Hopkins (4-1) over 15th-ranked North Carolina (2-1), 13-9.
How It Happened
• It took nearly seven minutes for the game's first score, as Garrett Degnon gave the Blue Jays the first lead of the contest.
• A few minutes later, redshirt-freshman Dominic Pietramala knotted the game at one-all, with a man-up opportunity.
• The two programs traded goals back-and-forth in the second quarter, with the visiting Blue Jays leading 6-5 entering halftime.
• In the third quarter, Johns Hopkins outscored the Tar Heels, 5-2, with Carolina scores courtesy of Ty English and Johnny Schwarz.
• Trailing entering the fourth, 11-7, the Tar Heels scored the quarter's first and last goal, from English and midfielder Antonio DeMarco.

• Pietramala and English led the Carolina offense with two goals each, as Logan McGovern and Owen Duffy both recorded two assists.
