Women’s Lacrosse Returns Home To Play High Point Sunday Afternoon

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Following an overtime win in the conference opener Friday night, the eighth-ranked University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team has a quick turnaround: The Tar Heels return home to host High Point for an in-state matchup on Sunday, Feb. 25.
First draw is set for 1 p.m. ET at Dorrance Field. The game will air on ACCNX with Brian Waer on call. Tickets are available for purchase here.
Fans are also encouraged to stay after the game for a poster signing session with the team.

Heels vs. Panthers
This will be the 12th meeting all-time between North Carolina and High Point with the Tar Heels leading the series at a perfect 11-0. This will be the sixth contest between the in-state foes played in Chapel Hill. UNC has out-scored HPU 202-66 all-time.
In the Last Meeting
The last game between UNC and HPU was on March 23, 2023, in Chapel Hill, which resulted in a 22-4 Carolina victory and the Tar Heels out-shot the Panthers, 38-10. Reilly Casey had a career-high five assists and Bailey Horne set a career-high eight draw controls.
Two Tar Heel program records were broken in the last meeting. UNC set a single-game team record with 19 assists, erasing the previous record of 16. UNC also had 41 points, eclipsing the previous single-game mark. Both previous records were also against the Panthers.
Last Time Out
North Carolina came out on top of an overtime thriller at No. 15 Virginia on Friday night, posting a 10-9 win in the ACC opener in Charlottesville. Eva Ingrilli scoring the golden goal with an assist from Alyssa Long. Ingrilli had a team-high three goals, her third hat trick in four games.
Olivia Dirks, Ashley Humphrey and Caitlyn Wurzburger all had three goals against the Cavaliers in what proved to be a close battle. Alecia Nicholas made six saves, including three in the third quarter, while Emily Nalls and Darcy Felter both had two casued turnovers.

Dirks and Nalls were named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, the sport's most prestigious award. Both graduate students were tabbed to the All-ACC Preseason Team, too.
