Tar Heels Scrimmage On Saturday

Chapel Hill, NC -- The North Carolina Tar Heels scrimmaged for 8 1/2 innings on Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The scrimmage was both traditional and situational so there is no relevant final score.
Offensive highlights: Kaleb Cost, Reece Holbrook and Jackson Van De Brake each homered. Vance Honeycutt and Anthony Donofrio had two doubles apiece, while Casey Cook had a double of his own.
Honeycutt was 3-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Donofrio was 2-4 with three runs scored. Van De Brake had four RBI. Parks Harber was 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Luke Stevenson was 2-4 with one RBI and one run scored.
Reece Holbrook homered in his last at bat on Friday and his first at bat on Saturday.
Pitching: Twelve Tar Heels threw on Saturday. Will Simmons, Shea Sprague, Luke Osteen, Hugh Collins, Harrison Lewis, Dalton Pence, Cameron Padgett, Boston Flannery, Ryan Fischer, Matthew Matthijs, Jacob Kirby and Matt Poston.
Simmons gave up one run in 3.0 innings while striking out six on 57 pitches. Flannery retired the side in order in his only inning pitched. Harrison Lewis tossed 2.0 scoreless innings, while Matt Poston threw one scoreless inning.
Next week's scrimmage schedule is TBD.
