Heels Begin Last Week Of Scrimmages On Tuesday

Chapel Hill, NC --Â The North Carolina Tar Heels began their last week of preseason scrimmages with a 7 1/2 inning affair on a clear, cool afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Offensive Highlights: Parks Harber was 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Harber also had the scrimmage's only home run. Luke Stevenson was 3-5 with three RBI and two doubles. Vance Honeycutt was the only other player with multiple base hits as he was 2-4 including a double.Â
Alex Madera had a triple and Jackson Van De Brake  and Anthony Donofrio both had doubles.
Pitching: Ten pitchers saw action. Aidan Haugh and Jason DeCaro were the two starters, wih Hugh Collins, Matthew Matthijs, Matt Poston, Kyle Percival, Connor Bovair, Harrison Lewis, Luke Osteen and Dalton Pence throwing in relief.
DeCaro hurled 4.0 innings, giving up one run on four hits while striking out one. Haugh also threw 4.0 innings, giving up one run while striking out three. Poston retired the side in order in his only inning. Pence struck out two batters in his one inning of action.
The Tar Heels will hold their next scrimmage on Wednesday.
