Last Minute Goal Lifts No. 6 Army Over Men’s Lacrosse

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Evan Plunkett's goal with 52 seconds remaining lifted the sixth-ranked Army Black Knights (8-1) over North Carolina (6-4), 13-12.
How It Happened
• Carolina scored three of the game's first four goals, with two scores courtesy of Owen Duffy and one from Brady Wambach, leading 4-2 after the first quarter.
• Duffy and Johnny Schwarz opened the second quarter with a goal each, giving the Tar Heels their largest lead of the game, 6-2.
• Army closed the first half outscoring Carolina 3-1, however the Tar Heels led entering the halftime break, 7-5.
• A back-and-forth third quarter saw the Black Knights outpace the Tar Heels, 4-3, with Carolina ahead by one entering the fourth.
• Army began the fourth quarter on a 3-0 run, leading 12-10 with just under 12 minutes remaining.
• Trevor Deubner's goal with 10:54 left halted the Black Knight momentum, as Dominic Pietramala tied the contest at 12-all with just over five minutes remaining.
• Plunkett's goal with 52 seconds remaining off an assist courtesy of Reese Burek helped Army collect their eighth win of the campaign.
