June 5, 2024 | Men's Golf
The University of North Carolina's Austin Greaser, David Ford and Maxwell Ford earned All-America honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America/PING and Golfweek.
Greaser, a graduate student from Vandalia, Ohio, was named second-team All-America on both teams. He is an All-America for the fourth straight season. Winner of two NCAA regionals (in 2022 and 2024), Greaser led the Tar Heels in scoring average this season (70.47) and finished his five seasons No. 3 in scoring in UNC history (71.04). He also led Carolina this season in rounds under par (21), rounds in the 60s (15) and cumulative score to par (29 under).
Greaser was an honorable mention All-America in 2021 and 2022 and third-team selection in 2023.
David Ford and Maxwell Ford, juniors from Peachtree Corners, Ga., were both named third team by Golfweek and received honorable mention honors from the GCAA/PING.
David Ford was previously named first-team All-America as a sophomore and third team in 2022. This season, he won the Williams Cup at Eagle Point, beat first-team All-America Luke Clanton of Florida State in the ACC Championship finals of match play and had four top-5 and five top-10 finishes. During the season he also teamed with Greaser and Dylan Menante to help the U.S. win the Walker Cup at St Andrews and he was one of three U.S. collegians to win the World Amateur Team Championship in Dubai.
Maxwell Ford posted the second-lowest scoring average on the team (71.19), went 3-0-1 in match play, including the decisive point in the ACC semifinals vs. Wake Forest and shot in the 60s in all three rounds in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional.
Greaser and the Fords are the 15th, 16th and 17th Tar Heels to earn All-America honors while playing for seventh-year head coach Andrew DiBitetto.
