Fencing Earns Four Bids To NCAA Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Four Tar Heel fencers have earned at-large bids for the 2025 NCAA Championships on March 20-23 at the Multi-Sport Facility in University Park, Pa.
Elden Wood is returning to the championship for the second straight season for men's sabre. Sophia Kovacs has punched her ticket for the third straight season in women's sabre.
Peter Bruk (men's foil) and Brayden Gyure (men's epee) are making their NCAA Championship debut.
The regional championships were one way to qualify for the NCAA Championships. NCAA qualification is based on a formula that weighs regional performance at 60% and regular-season results at 40%. Regional champions in each weapon earn automatic bids, while the remaining spots are based on performance and regional standings.
