April 7, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina women's lacrosse program was unanimously voted No. 1 in this week's IWLCA Coaches Poll, the organization announced on Monday morning. This marks the first time the Tar Heels have held the number one spot since week five of the 2023 season. Carolina defeated previous No. 1 Boston College, 12-11, in a thriller on Saturday to claim the top spot.
UNC is now the only undefeated team in the country after snapping Boston College's 21-game winning streak. The Tar Heels current 12-game winning streak is the longest in the nation, three games ahead of Princeton's nine-game streak. With its win over Boston College, UNC has now defeated eight Top 25 teams, including four over Top 5 teams.
The Heels will look to continue their winning streak on Wednesday when they travel to Greenville to take on ECU. First draw is scheduled for 6 p.m. with the game airing on ESPN+
