WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – North Carolina track and field dominated the 10,000m on day one of the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. Carolina won the men's 10k and earned a podium finish in the women's 10k as well.
After day one, the men's team is second with 13 points, and the women's team is tied for seventh with seven points.
Parker Wolfe (28:51.09) notched his sixth career ACC title, running the fourth fastest time in school history. Wolfe stayed in the lead pack for the entire race, and as he entered the final lap, he pushed to the head of the pack and cruised to the title four seconds ahead of his closest challenger.
Sam Corley (3999) sits in fifth after day one in the decathlon as he posted two personal best marks in the 100m (11.02) and the high jump (1.98m). The high jump was his highest finish of the day as he took second.
