June 12, 2025 | Women's Tennis
Once again, the University of North Carolina will host a regional in the 2026 ITA Women's Kickoff Weekend.
With the 2024-25 college tennis season now behind us, sights will now turn to the upcoming 2025-26 college tennis season as the 2026 ITA Kickoff Weekend Draft officially gets us underway in the new season.
Serving as the qualifying pathway to the ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championships, the ITA Kickoff Weekend features 56 of the nation's best men's and women's programs competing at 14 men's and women's host sites across the country. Held from January 23-26, 2026, the Kickoff Weekend Draft provides coaches the opportunity to choose which host site they would like to compete at in the new year.
The Cone-Kenfield Indoor Courts at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill will serve as the site of the Chapel Hill Regional. The Tar Heels (who finished No. 4 in the final 2025 ITA rankings) will be the top seed and host Charlotte (No. 49), Penn State (No. 55) and Columbia (No. 66)
Based on ITA year-end ranking, the 14 men's and women's hosts are the 14 best teams in the country from the previous year. The draft order also follows ITA year-end rankings with the No. 15-ranked team getting the first pick in the draft and subsequent picks following the rankings until each host site has four total teams.
