Nineteen Named To All-ACC Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A total of 19 North Carolina men's lacrosse players were named to the All-ACC Academic Team, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Tar Heels earning academic recognition from the ACC include: Cole Aasheim, Paul Barton, Chase Cellucci, Owen Duffy, Dewey Egan, Michael Gianforcaro, Leif Hagerup, Colin Hannigan, Caden Harshbarger, Parker Hoffman, Niko Karetsos, Brett Koopman, Ryan Levy, Andrew O'Berry, Nick Pietramala, Andrew Preis, Mason Szewczyk, Brevin Wilson and Matt Wrede.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Additionally, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
Barton, Egan, Hagerup and Levy earned All-ACC Academic recognition for the third time in their careers, as Duffy, Karetsos, Koopman, Preis and Wrede collected honors for the second-straight year.
