Fink Named ACC Gymnast Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the women's gymnastics weekly awards Tuesday afternoon. Senior Gwen Fink was tabbed ACC Gymnast of the Week after posting a career-high All-Around score to take first in the event at the Florida Quad Meet. The award marks the first ACC weekly honor in Fink's career.
Fink was the only Tar Heel to compete in the All-Around at the quad meet hosted by no. 1 Florida. Amongst tight competition from Florida and West Virginia, Fink came out on top with a score of 39.475. The senior recorded a 9.850 or higher on each event. Fink led the team on Bars and Beam with a score of 9.875 on each event.
The Fort Mill, S.C. native's performance was key for the team to secure second place while recording a program record score on the road (196.675). Fink was tabbed Preseason All-ACC and is prepped to continue leading the Tar Heels this season.
