Weight Throw Sweep Kicks Off Dick Taylor Challenge

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina track and field opened up day one of the Dick Taylor Challenge by winning three of the four events on Friday, Jan 16.
Myles Scott got the Tar Heels in the men's weight throw, throwing a mark of 17.50m to win the event — Sam Romerhaus coming in third with a 15.58m throw.
Kosi Umerah (20.21m) won her second straight victory of the season and second straight Dick Taylor Challenge victory in the women's weight throw. McKynzie Mauney threw a PR of 18.44m to end as the event's runner-up.
Kyle Archie cleared 2.01m, securing his second top-two finish of the season with second place. Max Stakun-Pickering PR'd in the event to clear 2.01m, finishing in 4th.
Tyler Collins tied for first place in the women's high jump after a jump-off, clearing 1.71m to start her college career with two victories in a row.
