Gymnastics Falls To Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 13 University of North Carolina women's gymnastics fell, 197.025-196.375, against no. 16 Clemson at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, S.C. Friday night.
The Tar Heels posted their highest team scores of the night on floor and vault with a 49.150 on each. Jessica Naranjo and JoJo Valahovic split the beam event winner title while Gwen Fink and Kaya Forbes were two of three event winners on vault.
All-Around
Both Fink and Sydney Seabrooks competed in the all-around for Carolina. This meet marks the first time this season that UNC had two gymnasts competing in the all-around. Fink notched a 38.750 while Seabrooks led the Tar Heels with a 39.125.
Rotation One – Bars (49.075)
Three Tar Heels recorded a 9.850 on bars. Anna Pearl Stanley was one of the three team leaders on bars while also recording a career high.
Rotation Two – Vault (49.150)
Elly King led off one of Carolina's best events of the night with a 9.775. Fink and Forbes topped the competition with a 9.875 on vault.
Rotation Three – Floor (49.150)
UNC continued the momentum from vault into floor. Fink and Naranjo put together dynamic performances to record a 9.825 on the event. Their scores were the second highest on floor for the Tar Heels. In typical fashion, Seabrooks anchored the floor lineup with a 9.900.
Rotation Four – Beam (49.000)
On the final rotation of the night, Naranjo and Valahovic stole the show each recording a 9.900. The pair's scores earned them the event title after leading both teams on beam.
