In 2002 Cross Country: Competed in five events for the Tar Heels ... Won the first national championship in the history of North Carolina cross country with a record-setting time of 19:36 on the Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Ind., at the NCAA Championship ... Named NCAA Female Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second consecutive season ... Earned All-America honors for the third straight year ... Won her third straight Southeast Regional with a time of 19:17.0 in the 6K to become the first ACC and UNC runner to accomplish that feat since the NCAA sponsored regionals ... Became the second woman in ACC history (UNC's Karen Godlock 1994-96) to win the ACC Championship three years in a row (2000-02) with a time of 20:06.3 (6K) ... Finished first in all five competitions ... Began the season with a victory at the Great American Festival with top ranked teams such as BYU and Colorado with her time of 17:48.1 (5K) ...
