General: Two-time returning letter winner on defense who has been one of the team’s pleasant surprises over the last two seasons...will miss the entirety of the 2002 season after tearing an anterior crucitae ligament and undergoing off season knee surgery...will retain two seasons worth of athletic eligibility.
2001 Season: Played in 11 games for the Tar Heels last season...started the first six games of the campaign against Fairfield, Bucknell, Navy, Delaware, Butler and Duke at the wing position on the faceoff and long stick pole...equaled his career high for ground balls in a game with two against Fairfield, Bucknell and Butler...had 10 ground balls on the season.
2000 Season: Played in 13 games for the Tar Heels as a freshman...started four games for the team at close defense including both games against Virginia as well as the Hofstra and UMBC games...had nine ground balls on the season and 12 takeaways...had two ground balls and three takeaways in the ACC Tournament semifinals against Virginia.
Prep: Graduated from the Charlotte Country Day School in June of 1999...lettered there for three years in lacrosse, three years in basketball and two years in football...a first-team All-State selection in lacrosse in both 1998 and 1999...a high school All-America on the lacrosse field in 1999...member of the National Honor Society...named to Country Day’s Honor Roll all four years.
