The 2020-21 season will be Jason Beaulieu's 11th year coordinating the strength and conditioning program for the UNC women’s basketball team.
A native of West Chester, Pa., Beaulieu is in his 24th year as a certified strength and conditioning coach. Before arriving at North Carolina, he was the Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Delaware. He also spent time as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at the University of Kansas.
He was the Director of Athletic Performance at Velocity Sports Performance in both Baltimore Md., and Alexandria Va., and was the Head Strength and Conditioning coach and coordinator of Physical Education at St. Stephens and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Va.
A 1996 graduate from the University of Delaware, he was a four-year letterman as a midfielder for the Delaware men's lacrosse team from 1993-96, serving as co-captain as a senior. He led the nationally-ranked Blue Hens to North Atlantic Conference titles in 1993 and 1994. Beaulieu earned his degree in physical education studies with a concentration in strength and conditioning.
He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified club coach through USA Weightlifting.
Beaulieu and his wife Kathleen have two sons, Matthew and Tyler.
