Shellie Greenman was named the director of basketball operations for North Carolina women’s basketball in June of 2024, bringing over 20 years of experience in collegiate athletics to the Tar Heels. Greenman most recently served in the same capacity at Clemson for six seasons.
Prior to her stint at Clemson, Greenman spent time at North Florida as the director of basketball operations. Prior to her time with the Ospreys, Greenman was in the SEC for four seasons at Florida as a program assistant. With the Gators, she assisted the coaching staff in recruiting, planning and scouting during a pair of 20-win seasons for the Gators.
Before arriving in Gainesville, Greenman’s times in women’s basketball spans across multiple stops as an assistant coach at Jacksonville University, Western Carolina, Miami University (OH), Tennessee-Chattanooga and Virginia Tech.
Hailed as a prolific recruiter, bringing in a top-30 class while at Virginia Tech and signing three conference rookie of the year student-athletes.
A graduate from Emory and Henry College with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education, Greenman then went on to earn her master’s in 1990 at Virginia Tech. A four-year letterwinner in basketball at Emory and Henry, Greenman led her team to the ODAC Conference championship in 1988, as she was named to the All-Tournament team.
