Nikki Teasley Named ACC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

CHAPEL HILL -- North Carolina junior point guard Nikki Teasley has been named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The Washington, D.C., native helped lead the Tar Heels to key wins over Florida State and No. 9 Duke to close the regular-season.
For the week, Teasley led Carolina with 18.5 points and 7.5 assists per game. She shot 35 percent from the floor (9-for-26) and 90 percent (17-for-19) from the free throw line. In the 73-64 Tar Heel win on Sunday over the Blue Devils, Teasley had a team-high 16 points, including 10 in the second half. At Florida State, Teasley had 21 points, nine of which came in the final 1:52 of play as UNC scored a 78-74 come-from-behind win in Tallahassee.
Teasley and the Tar Heels head into this weekend's ACC Tournament on a four-game winning streak. Carolina is 16-11 overall and posted an 8-8 mark in ACC play this season.
