Senior forward LaQuanda Barksdale, who finished her UNC career as one of the program's leading scorers and rebounders of all-time, has had several more accolades added to an already impressive list.
* For the second season in a row, Barksdale has been named to the All-ACC Tournament first team, announced following Monday night's championship game. Barksdale averaged 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the Tar Heels' two tournament games.
* Barksdale has been named third-team All-America by the Women's Basketball Journal, which announced its squads today. The WBJ teams are named by position, ranking Barksdale among the top six forwards in the nation.
The Women's Basketball Journal honored Notre Dame's Ruth Riley as its Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, Duke's Alana Beard as its Freshman of the Year, and Oklahoma's Sherri Coale as its Coach of the Year.
UNC fell 75-57 to Clemson on Saturday in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals to finish the season 15-14. Barksdale, a two-time All-ACC pick, averaged 19.0 points and 11.5 rebounds during her senior season.
