John Inman Tied For 21st At New Zealand Open

PARAPARAUMU BEACH, New Zealand - North Carolina's John Inman carded a one-over par 72 in the second round of the New Zealand Open and is tied for 21st place with a one-under 141 total after firing an opening-round 69.
Inman, in his fourth year as the Tar Heel men's golf coach, trails co-leaders, James McLean and Stephen Leaney, by six strokes. McLean's 135 total came after rounds of 65-70 while Leaney shot 68-67. The world's top player, Tiger Woods, stands tied for 41st place after rounds of 70-73. Mark Wilson, who played on the Tar Heel golf team 1994-97 and was the Atlantic Coast Conference champion in 1996, carded a 75 in the second round and is tied for 49th place after shooting a 69 in the opening round. The 72-hole event is being played on the par 71, 6,618-yard Paraparaumu each Course. The top 67 players survived the cut made following the second round.
