Carolina Waterscapes Student-Athlete of the Week: Coretta Brown

Senior guard Coretta Brown led the UNC women's basketball team to three wins last week, including a pair against ACC opponents, and is the Carolina Waterscapes Student-Athlete of the Week for December 30-January 5. Brown averaged 16.3 points and 5.7 assists as the Tar Heels defeated American, Georgia Tech and NC State. In UNC's win over the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta, she scored a season-high 23 points and played all 40 minutes. She scored 17 points Sunday as the Tar Heels defeated NC State 80-59 at Carmichael Auditorium. Brown shot 65 percent from the field and 66.7 percent (8-12) from three-point range in the team's ACC games. For the season, she leads UNC in scoring with 12.8 points per game.
