Little Earns Second ACC Rookie Honor

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - For the second time this season, North Carolina freshman Camille Little has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for women's basketball. Little, who also earned the honor following the first two games of the year, averaged 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in last week's three games for the No. 13 Tar Heels (6-1).
Little, a 6-1 forward from Winston-Salem, N.C., has started all seven games this season and leads UNC in scoring with 14 points per game. She ranks second on the team in rebounds with 7.9 per game.
Sunday at Old Dominion, in Carolina's first loss of the season, Little scored a career-high 23 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field and added seven rebounds. Earlier in the week, she averaged 9.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in limited time on the court in a pair of lopsided wins. Against Tennessee-Martin last Wednesday, she scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. Against South Carolina State on Friday, she scored nine points and had six rebounds in 21 minutes on the court.
Georgia Tech's Fallon Stokes earned ACC Player of the Week honors.
The Tar Heels' next game is on Saturday, when they host Wofford for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Carmichael Auditorium.
