Carolina Hosts FSU Sunday At Carmichael

Tipoff
The North Carolina women's basketball returns home to host Florida State on Sunday. Tipoff at Carmichael Auditorium is 2 p.m. The game is just the second at home for the Tar Heels since they hosted Clemson on Jan. 4.
North Carolina (16-3, 6-2 ACC) is ranked 10th in this week's Associated Press poll and 11th in the coaches' poll. Florida State (10-9, 3-5 ACC) is not ranked.
Next up for Carolina is a trip to Clemson, S.C. The Tar Heels visit the Lady Tigers for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday.
On the air
Sunday's game will be broadcast live by the Tar Heel Radio Network. The women's basketball network encompasses 17 stations, including WCHL-AM 1360, the flagship station. Jones Angell will handle the play-by-play and Adam Pohl will provide color commentary.

Tickets to UNC women's basketball games are $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors. There is no charge for admission for children 12 and under.
North Carolina students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their UNC One Cards.

Scouting the Florida State Seminoles
Florida State is 10-9 on the season and 3-5 in the ACC following a 73-62 loss to Georgia Tech last Sunday. Freshman guard Shante Williams led FSU with 14 points and seven rebounds, and senior guard/forward Tasheika Allen added 13 points.
On the season, Allen is the team's top scorer, averaging 14.5 points per game. Williams is the only other player in double figures, scoring 10.4 points per game. Junior forward Genesis Choice is the team's top rebounder, averaging 5.6 boards per game.
FSU ranks third in the ACC in scoring offense, averaging 73.2 points per game. The Seminoles are second in field goal percentage at 45.1.
The team is coached by Sue Semrau, who is 87-104 in her seventh season with the program.
The Florida State-UNC series
Sunday's game will be the 29th women's basketball meeting between UNC and Florida State. The Tar Heels lead the series 22-8 after winning the last four meetings and 19 of the last 21.
FSU's last victory in the series came at Carmichael Auditorium on Feb. 18, 2001, when the Seminoles won 80-78 in overtime.

No. 8 North Carolina 72, Florida State 56
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Jump-started by 57.7-percent shooting in the first half, North Carolina rolled to a 72-56 win over Florida State at Carmichael Auditorium. Senior guard Coretta Brown led the Tar Heels with 22 points for the second game in a row. She was 7-for-12 from the field and hit four three-pointers. She also led the team with seven assists. Sophomore Nikita Bell scored 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting and junior Candace Sutton added 12 on 5-for-7 shooting. Freshman La'Tangela Atkinson came off the bench to lead UNC with 13 rebounds in 21 minutes of play.
Tasheika Morris was the only FSU player in double figures with 20 points. Katelyn Vujas grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Seminoles.
Florida State cut the margin to four points, 54-50, with 4:05 to play, but the Tar Heels scored the next eight points to boost their lead back to double digits.
UNC won the rebounding battle 42-38.
