Carolina Golf Teams Ranked in Latest Polls

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The men's and women's golf teams are both ranked in the latest golf polls. The men's team is ranked 12th in Golf World's College Coaches Poll, 15th in Golfweek's Sagarin Rankings and tied for 16th in the GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll. The women's team is ranked 23rd in Golf World's College Coaches Poll and 25th in Golfweek's Sagarin Rankings.
Tar Heel senior Dustin Bray, from Asheboro, N.C., is ranked 23rd in Golfweek's Sagarin Individual Rankings while senior Meaghan Francella, from Port Chester, N.Y., is ranked 17th for the women.
The women's team kicks off its spring campaign this Friday through Sunday at the LSU Cleveland Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La. The men's team returns to action March 12-14 at the Las Vegas Intercollegiate. In mid February, they finished in 16th place at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Bray led the Tar Heels as he tied for fifth place with an even par 216 total. Kevin Silva, from New Bedford, Mass., tied for 18th with a 222 total.
