Florence, Italy
Hey to everyone back in the States. After a long day, I'm finally able to write to you guys. We are in Florence, Italy, now after our exciting trip to Pisa. Do you all know what Pisa is most popular for? For all that don't know, it's most popular for the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Seeing the tower was the best thing I've experienced in my life. It was one of the coolest things in the world to look at! We took plenty of pictures, so you will be able to see it soon.
Some experiences were more terrifying than others. We witnessed three robberies at one time and the worst part is it was three of our people who got robbed. Don't worry - no one was harmed and thanks to the help of a few Tar Heels, everything was returned. How? Well, they were really brave and ran the robbers down. The men were so scared they dropped the things and kept running. I would have been scared, too, if a group of women 6-feet and over was chasing me! LOL! What a day, huh?
We played a game last night against an Italian team and we won, 91-86. As you can tell, it was a high scoring game, but the defense on both ends was pretty bad. That was our first experience playing basketball overseas. Overall, it was pretty fun and I can't want to play again.
Well, it's time for me to hit the sack, but I have so much more to share. I guess I'll have to wait until I get back home. Take care, God bless and stay tuned for more updates on our European tour.
