Carolina's Men's Golfers Tie For 10th Place At The Bank Of Tennessee At The Ridges Intercollegiate

Jonesborough, Tenn. - Carolina's men's golf team got its fall season underway this weekend and tied for 10th place at the Bank of Tennessee at The Ridges Intercollegiate. The Tar Heels carded an 883 total after posting rounds of 295-294-294. Tennessee claimed the team championship as the Volunteers fired an eight-under-par 280 in the final round for a 10-under 854 total. TCU was the runner-up three shots back with an 857 total while Clemson was third at 861, Oklahoma was fourth at 870 and Wake Forest fifth with an 871 total.
Tennessee's Philip Pettitt fired a five-under 67 on the final day to capture the individual title with an eight-under 208 total. Oklahoma's Anthony Kim finished two strokes back in second place with a 210 total while Clemson's Brian Duncan and Wake Forest's Webb Simpson tied for third place at five-under 211.
For the Tar Heels, sophomore Martin Ureta fired a one-under 71 in the final round for an even par 216 total to tie for 10th place. Matt Crenshaw carded a one-over 73 for a 222 total and tied for 35th place while Fernando Figueroa and Jonathan Jackson both tied for 42nd place with 223 totals and Josh Moore posted a 230 total and tied for 68th place.
The 54 hole event was played at The Ridges Golf and Country Club which features a par 72, 7,147-yard layout.
