Tar Heel Golfer Jonathan Jackson Runner-Up At Dixie Amateur

Pompano Beach, Fla. - Jonathan Jackson, a senior on North Carolina's golf team, was the runner-up at the 75th annual Dixie Amateur which concluded Dec. 22. Jackson fired rounds of 71-64-71-73 for a five-under-par 279 total, three strokes behind champion Colt Knost of SMU.
Jackson finished one stroke ahead of a trio of golfers who carded 280 totals - Florida's James Vargas, Notre Dame's Cole Isban and Peter Uhlein who is a junior golfer from the Bradenton Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
The 72-hole event was played at the par-71 Palm-Aire Country Club.
